to the land of the pines,
I'm thumbin' my way down to North Caroline,
Starin' at the road,
And pray to God I see head lights....
.... I made it down the coast in seventeen hours,
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers,
And I'm a-hopin' for Raleigh,
I can see my baby tonight...
More like 11.5 hours, I didn't stop for flowers, and I'm not really prepared to start callin' my father "baby."
Saturday messin' around:
Ate breakfast on a rock in the middle of this:
Walked to the top of Chimney rock:
Lake Lure from the top of Chim. Rock- kinda hazy:
Early Sunday morning on the way home:
690 miles later:
Also spent a little time on the Blue Ridge Parkway. For you motorcycle guys, if you ever get a chance to ride the Parkway, I think that would be the best way to see it and worth every penny spent, IMO.
