While looking for a better daily driver than my F150, I came across this:

2004 Acura TL

Suspect its a scam based upon the price (KBB is ~$15K) and lack of specific info. There is also some weird text right above the photos. More and more, CL is becoming just a waste of time.

We recently found a great, honest used car on CL but only after wading through these scams for several hours a day for a month. I think every one of them had an email address with a woman's name in the format firstname.lastnameXXX@domain.com (XXX being a number).

We found the car, but there's got to be a better way.

I think they forgot a ZERO. I just sold my old iPhone on craigslist for $350 Cash. I met the guy locally and exchanged money for phone. This is more than my new one cost. When I asked the guy what he was going to do with it he said "sell it to my Russian hook-up for $450" Aparently his hook-up sells it to his connection in Russia for way more.

Sorry, Doggg. I already Western Unioned the money. The owner is supposed to ship the car to me immediately as soon as he/she gets a minute while on business in Europe. I can't wait!

I'm thinking of buying lots of these cars and then flipping them for a profit. rolleyes

Dear Linda;

I look with enthusiasm at the prospecting of buying your car. However, I have a rather large sums of cashes tied up in my real-estate ventures. Therefore, I would like to propose that I sent you the deed to one of my properties, valued at $250,000 Cayman US dollars in 2007 2006 2005, in exchange for the car.

Once the car has been shipped and I inspect it, then you are free to likuidate the property for whatever suites you. Bye the way, there is a non returnable bank fee of $4,000 for processing the transfar, and that bank only accepts Western Union cheks (you know how un-trusting those banks are), so you woulde have to pay that fee to me before you culd likquidate the propertie.

But you chose not to likudate you woulde be gettin a house in the US, and I think you culd get citisenship papers easer if you were a propertie owner. The propertie is located at 9764 Jeopardy Lane, Chicago, IL 705 Hauser St, New York, NY 1020 Palm Dr, Coca Beach, FL 9114 South Central, Los Angeles, CA

Respectfuley;

Lefty Schlegal
