Interesting. When I downloaded the 3 upgrade just now, I checked memory usage before the installation. I had 9 tabs open in my 2.x version and mem usage was 124MB. I let the 3 installer run and restart so that the same 9 tabs would re-open with the same content. Mem usage started at 94MB and has crept up to 110MB.

That's not much of a real test but might provide a "bigger than a breadbox" level of expectation.

EDIT: And right after I posted this, mem dropped back to 99MB.

I uploaded some updates for FF, it's working pretty well for me.

Work computer, as of today, has 3.0, but I haven't done it at home yet. I don't notice any performance issues, and I haven't had time to use it much to decide if the new buttons and formatting are good or bad.

My first impression is none, I hardly noticed it was new except for the visual changes,and on the plus side all the buttons I went looking for were where I expected them to be.
